Last weekend I was showered in love, excitement and gifts for our baby. My Mom, sister and sister-in-law along with the help of a few other lovely ladies in my life came together to plan the baby shower brunch. The theme they chose was Peter Rabbit as the nursery I have designed for our baby is Peter Rabbit. I just love the classic, cute and vintage look of everything Beatrix Potter and the story of Peter Rabbit suits a baby boys room. Speaking of baby boy, for those of you who haven’t guessed already from the couple of photos from the baby shower that I have posted on Instagram, we are expecting a boy!! My sister-in-law designed the invitation below and the mommy-bunny flower crown for me to wear at the shower.
I’m lucky enough to have a quite a few talented ladies in my family. My Aunt put together the adorable carrot patch cutlery sets. Everything was decorated beautifully with such loving care to each detail, making for delightful garden patch theme from the Tale of Peter Rabbit.
I wore a dress from Pink Blush Maternity and felt like a flower in full bloom! Pink Blush Maternity gifted me this beautiful Winter Floral dress which was not only pretty but so comfortable too.
My sister-in-law baked this lemon flavoured naked cake for the shower and she made the custom cake topper too! It’s such a special keepsake that I’ve already tucked away in his baby book.
One special little detail which I especially loved that was included in the decor were the scalloped paper banners. My Aunt made them for our wedding last year and we had them strung up across the reception room. Having a piece of our wedding which was such a wonderful day strung up again on another very special day to me was a whimsical touch that filled my heart with happiness.
My BFF gifted our baby with a set of Beatrix Potter books for the nursery. The illustrations are so sweet that I was seriously considering taking a page out to frame, until my sister talked some sense into me not to wreck the books, haha!
My Mom gifted the baby this amazing diaper cake, which was Peter Rabbit themed of course! It was filled with diapers, bibs, wash cloths and topped with an adorable Peter Rabbit stuffy that she brought back from a recent trip to the U.K.
My sister gave the baby shower a touch of blue with these pom-poms that she brought. I am so happy that she was here to celebrate with me all the way from Calgary.
It was a lovely afternoon with a wonderful bunch of women whom I feel so blessed to have in my life. Thank you again to all of them for sharing in our joy, happiness and excitement in welcoming our baby boy into the world. Just a few more weeks to go!
