I’ve been a busy Betty lately.¬† Instead me of babbling on here’s a quick look at what I’ve been up to. Also, thanks to everyone who entered the earring give-a-way on the blog, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook etc. The winner is Shelley N. from Pender Island who entered via Twitter.

Here’s what I’ve been up to lately:

I celebrated¬† Valentine’s Day with my guy at with a lovely brunch at The Teahouse in Stanley Park and a couples massage afterwards. It was my first time at the Teahouse, it is so pretty there and the view is spectacular. It’s a very special place. Also, I loved my dress from Ever New Melbourne, check it out in Pacific Centre next time your in Vancouver.

I spotted this adorable fairytale house in Vancouver on North Granville Street. I love Disney and this reminded me of Snow Whites house. So magical looking!

I made pesto for the first time ever. I know I am tardy to the party with making pesto but wow what a fresh idea this was! I was looking for something to add to pasta instead of the regular tomato sauce and I found this recipe on the blog, A Teaspoon of Happiness. I made mine without the cheese and just sprinkled it on afterwards (so it would last in the fridge longer) and used pumpkin seeds instead. It was so good and it has no preservatives so yay for that!

On the topic of healthy eating, I’ve been really into Kymberly Snyder’s The Beauty detox book. I’ve mentioned this book before on Facebook. I’ve been following her healthy eating regime and learning so much about the benefits of almost every vegetable, fruit, nut and more. This book is my food bible, go get it now and thank me later!

This new mug that I got from Chapters is making me happy every morning that I drink tea from it! Only $10

I went a little blonder with the locks. It was unintentional – I just went in for highlights and came out a lot blonder but I’m digging it and feeling pretty. Now I just need a good tan..

telegraammmmmI went wine tasting on the West Side Wine Trail. I posted about this on Facebook last week. There was an event going on the wineries in West Kelowna that included wine tasting and an exquisite chocolate pairing at every stop. It was a lot of fun. My favourite winery was Rollingdale, it was the most unassuming place but the people we met were so genuinely kind and welcoming. We even got to try unreleased wines and do a few barrel tastings! This picture was taken on my iPhone at Quail’s Gate winery.

telegrammI matched my manicure to my iPhone case! Cheesy and ultra girly I know but my mantra with nails is to have fun. I think that your manicure should bring you happiness every time you look at it, so here I am with fuchsia pink and gold sparkly nails! Plain, boring, nude nails? Forget about it!

I love a good read! Currently I have been reading Wild by Cheryl Strayed. It is her own true account of her hike along the Pacific Crest Trail. She did it alone as a young woman in her twenties while battling a drug and sex addiction as well as getting over the death of her mother. It’s a powerful story of overcoming your fears and changing your life for the better.

I’ve been watching a lot of Olympics at cheering on team Canada. It amazes me what these talented athletes can do. The guts they have to fly the down the hill on skis and the insane flips they do is just so cool to watch. Their dedication to something that ignites their passion is inspiring too! Also, a highschool classmates of mine is on the Canadian bobsled team so that is really amazing to watch! Go Team Canada!

Osoyoos Lake is frozen over! It was so cold and extremely windy but I just couldn’t resist twirling around and ‘skating’ on it!

Stay tuned for my official Mercedes-Benz test drive video coming soon!
